On this point though, not really. I mean yes, we have data from select areas, but nothing to determine a true world average, not then and not now. Still today, this is ever changing data taken from select points on the globe, even around growing cities with increasing solar radiation from their concrete and reflections. While other spots on the globe are nearly entirely un-monitored.

It's treated more as a census, or a poll, rather than a true scientific process with observation and result of an entire observed subject. How can such a process be accurate when datapoints are so limited within the observed subject? In the end, it comes down to interpretation utilizing ever changing data, in which any outcome can be manifested to suit the desired results.

Yep, and large chunks of data (for sea ice for example) receive modifiers to correct for stupid changes in practice like bringing buckets of water on board boat to take the temperature rather than taking it in the water. And I was being generous with the 200 figure, but the point is that relative to the estimated age of the earth at 4,500,000,000 years it is a statistically insignificant figure.
