In 2007, I believe it was, the eqemulator website had an sql injection hack, so if someone was still using an old password, they were compromised. I believe that counts as a limited time unfair advantage, but not due to the csr, development or management team. The logs were gone through, and every single bit of what they did, aside from the spawn time issues, rectified.

We have a very comprehensive logging system, and monitor all commands run. Anyone with any bit of power is scrutinized more than any player account. Guides, GMs, and Developers all have to follow a strict policy of what they can and cannot do.

Do I believe there is some type of unfair advantage right now? No, and we work hard to keep it that way.

Also, not to mention, Project 1999 runs on more than one server... In fact we are up to three servers. Additionally I run other things such as the main EQEmulator project and help host other servers, those costs mostly come out of my pocket (The main eqemulator project gets barely one donation a month, and PEQ has contributed nothing to their hosting costs). The first server to run that stuff, including the first several months of P99, cost me over $2000.

That money came from my paychecks at work, and the work I do here is considered a hobby (oh boy, guide pun incoming)... donations cover what they can, when they can.

the reason i was asking is because i was one of those fuckheads. however, i believe nilbog and rogean would never do anything to jeopardize this project. what they're doing is valuable to us (obviously) and themselves in terms of getting the attention of this particular niche in the gaming market.

i believe nilbog's post. that put to rest any doubts i had about favoritism and unethical behavior.
