The number of people socking a mob is inversely proportionate to the length of variance.
Asking for a short variance is almost the same as asking for no variance. It's just stupidity.

Leash them. Leash the dragons. Coth recast time 15 minutes. Nerf bards till they are basically rangers who can whistle and their weight increases to 5000 if they get aggro. Swap out current fail formula for FD and replace it with the fail formula for lull spells.

El solvo.

What version of radiance would correctly punish someone the most for socking?

I don't really do the raid thing so I could be overlooking something obvious but the always-in-window idea seemed delightful.

Variance*

I know none of these nerds can handle radiance of any variety but especially sunlight.

Set variance equal to respawn time. 5 day respawn, 5 day variance. Have fun with the sock.

Completely pull the plug on the entire "project" with no warning. Sit and laugh as the masses cry over years of wasted time.

The 96 hour timers with the later added extended variance would work marvelously. Extended variance, I don't remember the exact numbers, had a chance in bottom hour of a window to add either 8 hours or a day or something to the window. Pretty sure that could happen multiple times. Oh how we would laugh at Forceful Entry with 10+ for an entire week, only for it to go into extended and our single tracker would snatch the FTE from the anyway.

Extended variance, long spawn timers don't prevent tracking. They do encourage less people camping a single spawn in game. Less loot / immediate gratification, but far more relaxed and unlikely to burn your entire guild out.

extended is different than beginning the tracking window immediately

would you sickos actually track a target for 10-14 days?
