Right - this is a situational discussion, not a discussion about rogue DPS.

your gif seems like the appropriate response. "killing" a mob becomes a lot harder if it gates or CHs.

Absolutely, positively wrong. Oblivious rogues who continue to try to max DPS, regardless of the situation, are not good players or doing their job. A rogue's job isn't just DPS. A rogue who understands push control and can use that push to break spells is the difference between a CHed mob, dead tank, or summoned group / raid.

To be fair I think what he's saying is that it's usually not absolutely necessary to swap weapons in order to be mindful of push, which is true. A lazy rogue that only has Ragebringer and Scimitar of the Emerald Dawn can still at least switch sides at the right time, even if their weapons are slow.

But if you're in a group with a knight and you're the sole pusher, you're definitely gonna want some quicker one-handers.

You can push without sacrificing DPS.

Cause you cant push without swapping to inferior weapons?

If you have a reason to push, dps isn't the priority. My 9/16 works just fine for the last 20-40%.

Also, on the topic of swapping weapons - the Barbed Scale Whip is fantastic even with Ragebringer in primary. Massive difference in push, and the DPS sacrifice is negligible. Pro-hint: the whip probably should've stopped dropping already.
