It gives an extra level and a HP boost (as well as an instant cast reclaim energy). Very golden for Fire pet.

I think that is the higher level focus that gives an extra level. The lesser focus items (according to wiki) just gives the pet a larger size and 25% more HP.

Might want to go back for the torch...when I was leveling my mage I found the fire pet was by far the best until level 50+

I will have to try the fire pet again. My limited experience with my lower level pets seemed to indicate water being best all around for dmg and survivability. Maybe I'll just look for the focus items to buy for that.

I spent 7-8 hours camping all 4 for my semi-twinked mage (Focus and Robe of Elements only). Getting duplicates really sucks. Save yourself some grief and pay the 200p per.

Is that stuff accurate for P99? Is it even accurate for live? Where does that site get that info exactly? The P99 wiki only says 25% more HP I think. Really interested to know if that stuff is accurate.
