  • Install original low-resolution zone textures (extract to EQ directory & overwrite): lowres_s3d.zip
Here are the high-resolution zone textures which are technically still classic (released during Velious era), but less classic than the low-resolution textures: highres_s3d.zip

To experience the Velious style user interface, navigate to your EQ Directory, then into your UIFiles folder. Create a folder named 'velious'. Download and extract this ZIP file into that folder: Velious UI Files
To use this interface in game, you must /loadskin velious.
phobus and qqui are also great modernized versions of the Velious UI.

someone made a custom UI based off of the original classic UI, which isn't as ludicrously cramped as the original, but I'd say it captures the essence of it. Grab it here: http://p99.yourfirefly.com/downloads/classic1.3.zip.

To make the loginserver screens look like classic EQ, navigate to uifiles/default and extract the files from this zip there:

Classic: http://www.project1999.org/files/EQLS_classic.zip
Kunark: http://www.project1999.org/files/kunarklogin.zip
  • Install a classic loading screen (or download and extract eqloadscreens1-3.rar to your EQ directory and launch EQ from Launch Titanium.bat to make it randomize between them):

To hear the old style midi songs for loading, death, and combat, move the following files out of your EQ Directory (Into a Backup Folder):

eqtheme.mp3
combattheme1.mp3
combattheme2.mp3
deaththeme.mp3
