Here's a thought. Log on, make a character, play until it's fun and then stop once it isn't. Honestly, I really don't care what you do as long as you stop making posts on here preemptively complaining about players that haven't done anything to you yet.
I don't mean to sound like a dick, but you're literally exactly what I was talking about.

I have a character, I'm enjoying myself immensely. However, as I near the level of content I consistently see people bitching about, I am (IMO) understandably concerned that said bitching will affect me, too. I play this game to relive some of the old fun, and if the high-end content is difficult to enjoy because of people with your outlook, I can continually create low-ish toons and still enjoy myself. I am simply trying to get a glimpse of what others think. You know, the reason forums exist in the first place.

Here's a thought: Make an account, post on the forums, when someone posts something you are going to act like a dick over, stop posting. Honestly, I really don't care what you do as long as you stop making posts on here raging about how something you didn't need to read in any way, shape, or form that you grossly misinterpreted if you read at all somehow offended your delicate sensibilities.

Why have peoples helpful attitudes gone to shit lately? The forums are full of vile spite lately, in EVERY section.

Cheer up people. Need a hug?

Smile What the problem

I have played EQ from the beginning of Beta and alot of players say they have ,But I'm very sure most of them lie.I'm here to tell you the good loot has always been camped and fought over since the start of Everquest.Obtaining Jboots in LS was the worst exp. ever.It was so bad they had a GM sit in zone 24/7 watching players. After doing about everything possible on EQ to level 85,I have come to a conclusion I don't play EQ for loot but just for the plain enjoyment of interaction with other players.I hate to say it but Drama really make EQ worth playing. If it wasn't for all the computation and drama this game would be a pure drag.Watching a pure solo running into Unrest and Mistmoore and beaning greed by about 20 undead. Then this pure solo runs for his/her life too zone while the whole house stacks to zone and seeing people freak out is pretty funny to watch.Take this advise from one of the longest playing players of EQ,Just chill and enjoy the humor and the friendships you gain in your travels. The high end gear is not that great and you will always obtain it in time. There no piece of gear in game worth ruining your fun.

Yeah, I don't get some people.

Same gear is in EQLive and more, if gear's the goal. Be faster to get it there too.

To me, this server is about - something other than gear. If you are here for a challenge, social interaction, nostalgia, etc - cool.

If you are here for gear.. umm, lol. There's a couple places where it gets handed out, practically for free:

EQLIVE that way >>>
<<< WoW that way

Gear in context is the goal, not just gear.

Sure I can run VZ/TZ and be 75 in a day w/ elemental gear, however this is completely out of context since *every other player is equipped similarly.

My wife and I are playing P1999 with the intent on getting rich and farming gear. Why? Because this is what we did in 1999 and its fun as shit.
