Do you see the logical fallacy here? You're conceding that there's not a long line of clerics waiting to rezz people, so it begs the question of why people leave a half-dozen corpses lying around if odds are against them getting rezzed anyway.

It really does get kind of silly when you go into Mistmoore and the entrance ramp is barely visible. Or you go into Freeport and people get creative with corpse art and it lasts a week. Or GMs sit in the EC tunnel and see "Fatcock******'s corpse" and don't do anything about it.
All I see is the logical fallacy of not using a given tool to negate the issue.

Seriously.... /hidecorpse all and STFU. It's not like all of those corpses are killing the Ozone Layer or something.

of all the complaints this wins the prize.
Lol.. At least I'm advocating the game being harder and more accurately reflecting classic rules. Nobody needs a week to get a rez, if they really want one, and there's certainly no point in corpses remaining longer than that.. Unless the corpse is stuck in planes or something.

and that's good to hear, Nilbog. I didn't know it was a bug, but I never knew the whole story to begin with. I've only been here 3 or 4 months.

Corpse timers were different in Classic? Huh. I don't remember that. Well then, I concede my argument.

Corpses still do not cause global warming though. Just making sure, right?

The abundance of corpses adds strain to both the server and the user clients as they have extra data to process. This increases the power consumption, which is predominately provided by oil, coal, and natural gas, even more so in the United States than Europe. Those energy byproducts are belched straight towards the upper atmosphere where they destroy ozo.... er, whatever is being destroyed this decade.

This ecological disruption has caused so much ice in the himalayas to melt that there are torrential floodings in highly populated and impoverished portions of Tibet, China, and India.

You are drowning poor children with your damn corpses, jerk.

Yeah, corpse timers need to get fixed so I don't have to type /hidecorpse. Forget about plane of sky, kunark, velious, etc., I'll just sit in EC tunnel all day not typing hidecorpse and be happy.

One of the priority concerns for source development is accurate corpse and res timers as per classic. Not my area of expertise, but I don't think its easy. We need these fixed for Plane of Sky onward.
If we don't find out what the exact numbers are, can the GM's PLEASE for the sake of difficulty implement an estimate of what those timers are? Especially for res timers (if I may hijack the thread a little) as those are 7 days long when they used to be a few hours back on live - this is causing people to gain 10 levels in a week and then res all of their corpses to gain 10 more levels at the rate of experience of their new levels.

Lazor, it's not that they don't know the numbers (3 hours, I think, and 5 minutes for duels), it's that the coding is proving difficult.

Edit: that's rezzability, not decay timer. Not sure on decay timer.

Usually we, like players, have /hidecorpse on.

I however did see a corpse like this after the patch today, and promptly deleted it.
