Take it from someone who has been playing here for several years and has not once even *seen* a dragon: you can have a lot of fun soaking up the nostalgia here on p99 without ever venturing into a single raid zone once.

What makes p99 so special (in my opinion) is the bustling in-game community. As Shodo said above, you need to read the forums with a giant box of salt because yeah... it's the internet. People are going to be horrible.

My suggestion to you would be to create a character, log in, roam around, and hopefully you'll have the same great experience that so many others have with this time capsule of MMO gaming at its best.

See you on the other side!

P99 is great man. Tons of great people. Plenty of groups. You will have a blast I am sure. As far as bans go, like others said, don't buy pixels with credit cards and you will be fine.

You're good bro, Like they said you have to really try hard to get banned. Dont RMT, Dont hack, dont box. Thats it really. Also, even if you arent big on raiding there are plenty of leveling groups all over, its rather easy to just send tells and assemble one for less populated places, I do it all the time.

There are several great guilds who raid often but also take players who dont raid, I rarely raid, take breaks all summer long, still in a great guild.

No offense to the big forum people, but really the negative stuff you see here comes from the few biggest whiners on the server. I wouldn't take it too seriously. The community in game is great, I don't think i've ever had someone be nasty toward me in game. I mean hell, look at some of the intro posts, how many people saying send me your name in game ill come do such and such for you.
The high end raid politics can be lame, but only if you let it get to you really.

I say do it, whats the worst that can happen? you'll log in, play for a bit, either like it or not.

I'm beyond sold, thanks so much for the feedback - the quick responses in such a short amount of time tells me there's at plenty of caring people out there who believe in the server.

I'm working now on getting the game installed properly. See ya'll in game!

(Applesauce: I never tried An Corp, I've heard of it but I was on two other high population shards that were a bit older than An Corp.)

To be honest, I never expected an emu server to be as good as what P99 is. To be honest with the GM's and the population, p99 feels more like a Live game than an emu.
You should be fine here.
So true....

The only thing I can compare p99 to is something like comic book collecting or some other strange vintage hobby collector who by day is a normal person, but by night has this amazing collection of.. pixels!

its awesome.

Don't let anyone tell you this community sucks, it's great.

Most of the negatives on the forums don't even play.
