Mm cool thought to use for hammer procs outta dangerous locs.

I've been wondering if I could use it to pull on my halfling warrior utilizing sneak. However my guess is that even if Filbus lands a successful sneak once eye of zomm is active, the eye does not count as having sneak. SO i'll just keep mine safely stored in my anus.

Another use is that you can stand against a wall and summon the eye. This will warp the eye somewhere randomly in a zone which is super helpful for non-tracking classes checking mobs deep in DN, ToV, SS, ST, etc.

They will also go down in price the longer they're around. They eventually (6 months in) get removed from the game, which is why the price is so high.

The reason they are valuable at all is that unlimited casts of Eye of Zomm is incredibly useful for necromancers who can lifetap the Eye to heal themselves without having to engage a mob in combat (that could potentially kill them, or resist, or is mezzed .etc). It's extra useful to necromancers who have the VP staff that gives them a mana free lifetap dot.

Also useful to monks for pulling!

Granted there are some tinkered items that give the same effect and can be recharged at merchant for cheap, but it's 5 charges per item and bag space is at a premium.
I would say pulling is the main pro. As a necro I can always find something to root / tap when im solo... In raids you should have regen anyways...

As with all things, Elder beads are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. If you stop offering 50, 60, 70k and start offering 5-10k, sellers will be forced to sell at that price point or not sell at all.

If sellers feel that 5k isn't worth sitting on a list for 10 days straight before their turn to loot comes around, they'll stop and the camp will open up for people to farm it normally.

Necros could life steal from the eyes on live.

They can do the same here I think - at least I can tap other people's eye of zomm on a red server. Eye of zomm is considered a pet and you can only have 1 pet up at a time, so if you have a high level spec pet already or a charmed pet, you can't really use the eye. Novelty for a necro, necessity for a monk or SK puller, especially when death touches are involved.

The casting time is what makes this item a novelty item IMO, it quickly becomes more of a hassle than its worth - much more efficient to just pull normally. It is a niche item with limited usefulness.

The *only* thing I can see this item being useful for, and don't get me wrong its a very useful thing, is for a monk to split pull a room of casters. LoS yourself, eye, then FD before they come around the corner, sneak tag. This can be done w/o the eye pretty easily, but this makes it a piece of cake. So definitely useful in small group situations without a enchanter. ToV is another example of a good place to use the eye since the mobs hit so hard and there can be long pulls, but even then we usually use a team of monks.

I bought a Singing Steel Helmet for 500pp on my Bard...that's about what I think of Elder Beads should be worth.

The cast time is what kills the beads, its like 10s cast, and lasts for like 20s - situationally useful at best, and only for monks IMO.

SS Helm is 10, Elder Beads cast in 4 seconds.

Stalking Probes however are instant.

There are plenty of times this is useful, I've used stalking probes on my Cleric and Druid to do pulls not possible without them. However the times when such pulls are necessary to do, are few.
