Rogue or shaman would be best I think. Enchanter or cleric if you don't mind a little extra pressure.
(tangentially, what is up with the people who don't like pulling? you see so little of the dungeon if you don't pull)

Is druid not a good choice?
Porting and soloing for money making. Buffs, Heals, and some nuking for groups.

Enchanter is what came to mind for me when i read the OP. Rog would fit the bill as many have pointed out

Shaman, cleric, or enchanter. I think you would like the shaman the most because it's not as boring as the cleric gets, and it doesn't take as much to learn like the enchanter class does. Shamans are built tough in terms of survivability (for being a caster class).

Make a druid. Healers are always welcome in groups. You make money by virtue of hitting a certain level, and if you can't find a group, you can easily solo.

For easiest time grouping play a Cleric/Enchanter/Rogue.
With that being said, out of those three the Cleric would probably be easiest for a new player. Rogues need gear to be really successful and as your first toon they will be difficult to make money on to gear. Enchanter is the most fun class I've ever played however they have a ton of responsibility in group and if you can't handle locking down and mezzing + keeping timers on mez for multiple mobs (could be upwards of 10+ pulls sometimes) then you will not find the class enjoyable. You might also consider a druid as your first toon. They get a lot of bad rep on this server but I don't know why. Now that velious is out they are much more viable end game. You can primary heal most groups up to 50. Druids nuke harder than mages. You can CC with root/snare kiting. You can charm animals, zone specific but arguably best DPS when you can. Then the ports.. invaluable for a new player looking to explore Norrath. Ports are also good money starting at 29 you get your first four and then at 34 you can port all over the world including kunark and velious. Druids can also power level for good plat too if thats your thing. Mages and Necros are also viable classes to start with but be careful with necro as it will make traveling certain cities more difficult. | ||

In general, even with classes that need gear (most melee) you can prosper with one as your main if you spend your time in dungeons, grouping. Incidental cash items will drop and that stuff adds up. My main is an SK and he's got some halfway decent gear acquired in various ways, and I never did make a farming character. "True newbie" charity is also a real thing here - if people catch wind of the fact that you're totally new to the server, and you don't make a big deal out of begging for stuff, you'll probably get some random things from kind folks sooner or later. You can get yourself kickstarted as basically any class that way.
