Although I may seem like a classic purist I don't think it would break classic if they did away with this.

Now we just need classic spell casting i.e. no instant interrupts via ducking. Just like red!

I actually don't understand why this was implemented on red but not blue.

Was it after Velious release that they finally disabled sitting during your cast? I remember Clerics getting in a med tick or two during CHeal casts, but I can't recall when that got nerfed.

Thi made items like Donal's arms much better in kunark. I know at least
For part of kunark this was possible, thought fix came after velious but don't know.

You still could not complete 2 spells within one global cooldown (3 sec?). Not sure if it's working this way atm.

Classic example: Mezz a mob, use jboots to clear GCD, cast color shift (1.5 sec) right away: You get "spell recovery time" not met message. You had to wait a little over 1 sec after clearing the GCD to be able to cast color shift. It was still immensely useful though.

While it wasn't working as intended, it took them *4* years to fix it. At one point, it becomes a feature, not an exploit or a bug.

Damn guys.

It worked like this till 2001. Unless you played something that cast no spells, this is something you should definitely remember.

In addition to this, you *should* be able to sit down during a long cast from a spell or clicky. As long as you are standing when it completes, it should resolve and cast.

I hope this is a joke. It obviously takes a lot more skill to pay attention to wtf you're doing and not cast the wrong spell.

If you review the patch notes, you'll discover we didn't have this functionality until long after pve was opened.

I support it being added purely because it should classically be there until June, 2001. It wasn't added because pve had been up for multiple years. PvP server had the option of starting with it.

Regardless, this is the pvp bugs section, so working as intended until midway Velious.

P1999 is intended by its creator(s) to more-or-less recreate classic EQ. That means classic mechanics generally get put in/left in place, even if the mechanics seem like exploits or imbalances today.

No, classic mechanics don't always remain in place on p99. No, p99 isn't totally devoid of custom mechanics. But none of this is stuff that "does not compute" with the stated purpose of the server.
Yeah, I was more mocking the implication that wanting things to be not exactly classic = whining for easy mode EQ.

Will this "feature" be around a long time or is it being fixed next patch?
