I have a z77 myself altho a different bios version, I notice when I change my 'turbo mode' and the ' intel speedboost' tabs to disabled, and then increase the cpu ratio manually, the bios automaticly changes the speedboost and turbo modes to enabled.

Perhaps try leaving them enabled instead of manually disabling them and then increasing the value.

This user had exact same 35 lock problem on this thread: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=718113

He said he solved it by updating his bios with the Ami-method found in this thread.

Actually removing the battery would just accomplish what I did in the first place, which was using the cmos reset jumpers. I might just try that again though.
From the stupidly limited amount I know, re-batterying should work... are you sure?

Saw your post on T's Hardware, I looked up another thread similar to yours. They found out that he had to have Turbo mode enabled in the actual bios. Because when you reset jumpers and set it back to default, the only way for that processor to again exceed 3.5mghz is through turbo, after you use turbo to get it back to 43/45 on a clean boot, you are supposed to then be able to manually set it back to 35-45.

Link here.

Starting to sound similar. I'd double check everything at a physical level - make sure the cooling is running well, things are securely in place, reapply the thermal paste, etc. The chips and the sockets are resilient. Don't curb stomp the board or use any gentle twisting motions to get it out, but fine otherwise.

Sucks it's not working - that's some really nice equipment to not work well.

Have always preferred a "boot to" flash over any "in OS" flash.. maybe I'm just old like that.. but it could be any number of little things causing it to wig a bit..

Here is another guy same issue: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=713186

here is him fixing it.

Success!!!!!!

I come home and clear BIOS with jumper again and start from scratch. Since I never even seen past 3.5ghz I am just working to see 3.9, it's normal boost. All I did was disable HT. Hyperthreading. I rebooted and bingo while windows 7 finishes loading the Intel Boost Monitor comes up and I see 3.9! Holy crap. So I go back to bios and do a simple Manual to 103 base clock, and 41 boost on all core. I boot up and I running at 4220 mhz stable to light use. Using prime95 temps get to 90c pretty quick. Will lay off til new cooler comes in! I rebooted and run iGPU to 1250 and set RAM to 1648mhz. Rebooted and ran Performance test 64. Highest score I ever had was about 5400, now its over 9500! Nice 40 percent increase in that one...... All volts left alone for now.

Thanks again, now I got to eat this sucker....
