Default New FCC Directive May Effect Online Gaming

A New FCC Directive announced Monday, may effect online gaming community.

As online gaming has reached over 100 million U.S. Households nation wide, the FCC announced a new Positive Directive (sic) Monday that could prove problematic within the gaming industry and community. The Directive only known as (W.H. 1697) is said to introduce regulation that may require game manufacturers "to be mindful" when developing software that can be construed as prejudicial. We at Game Informers didn't know exactly what that meant, so we contacted the FCC for comment. The Agency's Press Secretary Kim Hart responded by saying, "At this time we cannot comment on the exact content of the new and Positive Directive. An opportunity that Net Neutrality has opened for our agency will be effective in working with developers to produce products with appropriate themes, promote inclusion, as well as diversity within the online community." Since the Agency was not able to elaborate with any depth, as of now Game Informers won't speculate on any outcome of this Directive, but will continue to follow this story as more information is made available and the effects this may have on our readers and online community as a whole.
