I'm a civilian nuclear engineer for the department of navy, working work on aircraft carriers and submarines. I've been deemed "essential personnel" in every shutdown in recent history, except this one we were previously funded. I have no family/kids to worry about, so i've got plenty of money saved up to last. The ones this really affects are normal working class families... which should be sad to all of you, regardless of political party.

Maybe it's different in the engineering world, but the department of navy is literally begging for engineers to work for them right now. I hired into the job about 10 years ago when the economy was terrible, so just getting a job out of college at the time was enough. Nowadays there is little to no incentive to work for the government. The salaries are better in the private industry and they don't have the risk of getting shutdown literally multiple times a year. I'm actually quitting in the next month or two myself, so there goes another 10 years of experience.

I know you hate all of us lazy guvment workers, and i get it frankly, but the fact is some of us are actually working.

In the meanwhile, employees are not even able to write off their transportation costs getting to work, let alone their vehicle payment which is largely necessitated by increasing commute distances throughout the country. How is a 200mile/week commute to get to and from work NOT a work related expense?


Quit treating working class americans like we are fucking morons by supporting liars proposing "tax the rich bills" which only ever adversely affect middle class and lower class americans. Quit voting for sales tax increases and "luxury" tsx increases (sugar, cigarettes, alcohol) because they are "flat taxes" which disproportionately target people already strapped for cash. The government needs to learn to operate within its means. The exponential increase to deficit spending on both sides of the aisle needs to stop. The party is over, its hangover time.

Quit understating the attack on lower class americans being undercutted and their fields of occupation opportunity being oversupplied by illegal immigration, and our highschool/college aged kids having to compete with illegal immigrants occupying low skill jobs like theyre lifetime careers while they're trying to pay their way through college (on loans, as a result of illegal immigrants filling positions in service jobs that would otherwise need them)

And youre failing to understand me when i talk about the pay disparity between public and private employees working in identical industries. The public is not JUST upset with the asking for a cost of liv8ng increase, theyre wondering why, when youre already making 20 to 25% more than them, you even need a cost of living increase, let alone a government funded retirement program when we are expected to self fund our retirement on 16 to 20% less income.

Its not about petty pride. Its about the country showing a renewed interest in the working class poor. Technically, alot of us on this thread are arguing for the same thing. We're primarily in disagreement over how to address. Left seems to think that, despite decades of promises from their leaders often resulting in backstabs to middle class america and the working poor, that their leaders still intend to address our issues despites mounds of evidence to the contrary when their policies translate to reality..

Right says all evidence seems to point towards leaders "marketting" solutions that are actually exacerbating things (often intentionally), get out of our pocket and close the gates till we actually see some improvement to the causal effects.

And im not talking about party leaders, im talking about ordinary folk that just wanna live their lives without corporate and government overstep.

As an aside rant, i agree driving in America is fucked. I recently completed a 5 year contract out in Japan, and one of things i talk about when people ask me what i miss the most i say the robust public transit system. That and their magical toilets, ahhhhhh, but i digress. I've traveled pretty extensively worldwide, including some "shit holes", and almost all of them have better public transportation than us. But for some reason when i advocate for more public transportation here i get called a dirty socialist.

Additionally, i assure that I also do not receive any tax write offs from my commute. And i drive roughly 200 miles a week to work. I'm not sure why this is the democrats fault? Are there republicans out there somewhere that are advocating for tax breaks on commutes? Are republicans trying to fix any of the problems you mentioned above? Hell, are any politicians? Please do tell.

Identity Politics divides the country, breaking everyone into small groups. There's certainly room for groups who advocate on behalf of identities, but above all, the one identity that truly unites us is "American".

That national identity needs to be present in a multi-racial, multi-cultural society or else it falls apart.

We need to agree that we're all Americans, first and foremost. White people are more likely to help black people when they see them as "American" and not just "Black".

The country has been becoming a lot more socially liberal over the course of a few decades. Laws have been updated, minds have been changed.

That's not to say racism is cured but we've certainly have made strides and especially in regards to institutional racism (any evidence of institutional racism today is solely faith-based and resides in the minds of delusional people who feel as if the world is out to get them).

So with all these improvements, it appears the Left isn't needed anymore. At least in social terms.

They realize this. Which is why they create enemies out of thin air.

Like the Military Industrial Complex does with random baddies around the world to stay relevant, the Left does with random "white supremacist" ghosts.

It needs to instill fear in their constituents. Their voters currently feel as if there are roving gangs of Nazis killing minorities in the streets when there's obviously not.

The Left isn't concerned about establishing equality. Equality is bad for business.

That's why I think we see so many anti-white sentiments coming from the Left. They want to stir up people and make them feel as if they have to at least defend themselves against racism. And if the racist attacks are frequent enough, then people eventually start looking to defend themselves more fervently thus forcing them into a corner based on their identity.

Some people go over the edge and become full on white advocates, but it doesn't matter because the Left can paint the defensive white people as "racist" anyway because defending against anti-white racism looks suspect. At least to the people who easily fall for their propaganda.
